Wrapping Up My First Semester!

Wow does time fly! It feels like just the other day my parents were helping my move into my dorm and now I've had a semester full of college firsts and exams are quickly approaching. I came into college unsure about if it was the right choice for me and with some angst towards the thought of returning to school. Over time, I came to really appreciate the college atmosphere and look forward to what I would learn in my classes. Even if there were times where I would rather stay in bed.  Next week I only have two exams that I need to take in person which is a huge relief for my study load. I have my Principles of Public Relations exam on Tuesday and my TREX exam on Wednesday. I have until Thursday to complete my PC Apps exam which is nice because Excel and I don't always get along. After I've finished everything the first thing I plan to do is to go home and take a nice long bath.  I'm sure that break will even faster than this semester has but while I have the chance I...

Midterm Reflection

With fall break right around the corner, I figured it was as good a time as any to reflect on how my first semester of college is going. I like all of my professors and it's nice that they're understanding when it comes to getting sick or having to miss class. The only thing that has been mildly inconvenient is remembering to make time for homework and not get caught up in clubs or hanging out with friends.  I haven't been very homesick either, which I will attribute ...

College Week 1 - Getting Adjusted

Image
A Changing Lifestyle High School Graduation As a high school student, I was constantly busy and involved in everything under the sun. I played sports, was involved in the arts, took CCP classes and was an active DECA member. Towards the end of my senior year, I realized that I was exhausted, and I wanted to get away from all of my commitments. So, after I graduated that's exactly what I did. I had my "Summer of No Commitments." It was weird at first, learning to adjust to not constantly being busy, but it gave me the space to figure out what I enjoyed spending my time doing and I even got to go on vacation. Now that I'm back in school it's been a whirlwind of trying to figure out a schedule and prioritizing my time. Move In Day The day was finally here! Although I've had mixed feelings about starting college, I knew that one way or another I'd find out what was right for me. Moving in was kind of hectic, and truth be told I probably could've handled it...
