Thanksgiving Break

 The much-needed break has come and gone quicker than I expected it to. While there was definitely a lot of homework that didn't get done until the last minute, I still really enjoyed my break and was able to be productive in other ways. I also got to see most of my family for the holiday in between shifts at work and attempts at being productive. 


I was able to work quite a bit over break and even though it felt like I wasn't really on break because of it I'm happy that I got to save up some money so I can focus on finals over the next couple of weeks. Although, the downside of working so much was that I convinced myself that I was too tired to get my homework done. All of which was finished either Sunday night or Monday morning. On the bright side of procrastination, I freaked out and did some more homework than I needed to so now I'm a little ahead which is a good feeling. 


Living just down the road I didn't go home very much for break. But when my family did get together for Thanksgiving there were 19 of us in the house. It may sound like a lot but not all of us were there. We were missing Michael who is in the Merchant Marine Academy at the moment, and Reagan who is going to school in Washington. Reagan will be back for Christmas break, which will bring the total up to 20 depending on who brings a significant other. 


Even though I wasn't able to get quite everything done that I had hoped I would I still really enjoyed my break and am very grateful for the week off. Now to just hold out for three more weeks.

    Breaks always tend to come slow but then proceed to end too quick. At least we have XMAS to look forward to. And that one is a month or so. Hope the food was good :)

Looking Forward

Time really has flown by in my first semester of college. On the flip side, I feel like six weeks until the end of the semester is so far away! The idea of scheduling for classes on Monday is absolutely mind blowing and I'm just praying that all of the classes that I want to take are still available by the time I'm able to register.  While I am excited for the academic side of things, I am not excited about the cold weather that looms in the near future. I've enjoyed my walks across campus to get to my classes but I'm slowly starting to dread them more and more. While I am enjoying the few warm days that we have left I know that once that first snow hits it will be really hard to convince myself to leave the comfort of my bed and make the long trek across campus.  Luckily, Thanksgiving break is coming up, so I won't have to worry about walking out in the cold for a week. Midterm Reflection

 With fall break right around the corner, I figured it was as good a time as any to reflect on how my first semester of college is going. I was definitely nervous coming into college but now that I've gotten pretty adjusted, I feel much more comfortable putting myself out there. I've joined our Latino Student Union as well as our PRSSA chapter. There hasn't been much going to do with LSU as of yet but I'm very excited for my upcoming trip to Nashville, Tennesse with our PRSSA chapter.  As far as actual classes go, I was struggling a bit at first but now that we've started more projects and papers, I'm doing a lot better. I like all of my professors and it's nice that they're understanding when it comes to getting sick or having to miss class. The only thing that has been mildly inconvenient is remembering to make time for homework and not get caught up in clubs or hanging out with friends.  I haven't been very homesick either, which I will attribute

Marketing with Pinterest

 I have definitely done these chapter blog posts out of order but seeing as I've already created a post about X I'm going to write this one about Pinterest. I personally prefer to use Pinterest to collect aesthetics and create mood boards rather than look for specific products or connect with brands. However, after reading the chapter over Pinterest and completing our Pinterest assignment I found that the platform has not only become increasingly beneficial for businesses but also for shoppers. I really appreciate the unique angle that Pinterest offers for its users when determining what products to buy. I think that the ability to imagine certain products in different aesthetics and environments is a huge factor as to why Pinterest can be such a lucrative platform. I know that I've scrolled through Pinterest and seen multiple different pins of the same product but have only saved the one that fit the aesthetic that I was looking for.  I think it is slightly absurd how many
